Lions take 2nd at Clyde Cole Tournament
Farrell wrestling vaulted itself to state prominence, finishing 1 point behind Queensbury, the #10 ranked team in New York State, and defeating state powerhouses Union-Endicott, Greene and BGA. Vin Fischetti and Connor Hanafee led the way with individual titles and Hanafee earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors.

Lions 2008-09 schedule
Congratulations to Connor Hanafee for his stellar performance at the Super 32 in Greensboro, NC. Connor competed at 125 lbs and compiled a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. Connor defeated a georgia state champ, florida state champ and the defending NY State champ Jamie Franco who has recently signed with Hofstra University. The Super 32 is regarded as one of the toughest tournaments in the nation!! Tony Carlo and Ben Villaret also competed in the tournament - also thanks to Coach Ironman and Coach Pete Hamm for taking the weekend to travel with the guys!

Congrats to the JV lions for wrestling well in their first matches of the year. Most impressive for the young lions were Paul Schianodicola, Tim McCann, Casey Redmond, Paul DiStefano, Justin Ottrando and Tom Jacarrino

Steeplechase open results 9/28/08
3 Farrell Wrestlers go undefeated at the Waterway Duals in PA!
Ben Villaret, Tony Carlo and Christian Psomas all went 4-0 competing for Team Steeplechase NYC with coaches Larry Cantor and Phil Squatrito. Antonio Sparaco also competed and went 2-2 and had a come from behind win in the 3rd dual meet.
Hartnett wins Gold at Empire State Games
Congratulations to Kevin Hartnett for winning a gold medal in the Greco Roman 143lbs division at the Empire State Games. Kevin went 4-0 in greco roman and went 3-1 in freestyle competition to take a bronze medal. Incoming freshman Tim McCann took home a silver medal in the greco roman at 115lbs - Tim Monaghan, Christian Psomas and Antonio Sparaco also competed at the Games. Alumni Lou Musto placed 6th at Heavyweight and fellow alum and Binghamton University Wrestler Mike Digiorgio competed at 165lbs in freestyle.
3 Lions compete in fargo
3 of Farrell's top wrestler competed at the highest level this past summer in the Fargo Freestyle/Greco Roman National Championships. Tony Carlo and Ben Villaret both went 2-2 in freestyle and greco roman competition - they both weighed in at 140lbs. Connor Hanafee made his 2nd career trip to fargo - going 1-2 in greco roman and 0-2 in freestyle. Congrats on these guys taking the challenge to compete in the toughest tournament in the country
